Caring for Wintergreen Couch 

Just a little bit of work is all that’s needed to keep Wintergreen Couch grass looking its best.

Because this variety has runners above and below ground, it spreads across paths and garden beds, which means more frequent mowing is required. To keep it in its best condition, annual dethatching to remove organic matter that hasn’t broken down is recommended.

Dethatching should be conducted in late spring to give Wintergreen Couch time to recover over summer. This can be done by mowing low, using a lawn rake or a specialist verticutter for large or neglected lawns.

Apply fertiliser regularly throughout the year for the best results.
